Selecting Frequencies

Selecting Frequencies is the ambient music project of Leiden-based producer Julien Georges, creating human-made ambient music, binaural beats and ethereal drone soundscapes for relaxation, meditation, focus, yoga, sleep and flow state listening.

The project connects careful sound design with intuition: field recordings, live instruments, Logic Pro, improvisation and slow-evolving textures shaped into peaceful sonic spaces.

Origins

The project grew from Julien’s interest in meditation, astral projection soundscapes, consciousness and the mind-expanding qualities of ambient music. That fascination deepened through reading Irreducible and exploring inner experience through sound.

Sound and process

All Selecting Frequencies music is shaped through improvisation, careful listening and flow state. Made with a field recorder, Logic Pro and live instruments. No AI, no samples; just pure sound, atmosphere and human intuition.

Analytical ear

As an analytical chemist, Julien selects precise masses and signals by day in the laboratory using mass spectrometry; through Selecting Frequencies, he selects frequencies, textures and atmospheres by feeling.

Ambient Soothes

Ambient Soothes is a curated playlist of soothing, human-made ambient music for calm, relaxation, yoga, stress relief, sleep, focus and inner stillness, made for both spiritual and non-spiritual listeners.
